Between Sage and Chanel: My Path from Corporate Life to Spiritual Healing

Growing Up in a Spiritual Home

I grew up in a spiritual family.

Monthly protection rituals, deity worship, and energy cleansing were part of life. My grandmother used sage and eggs to shift heavy energy in the house. We cast bones, read fire, and sought guidance before big events.

That was normal to me.

We didn’t separate the spiritual from the practical.... we lived BOTH.

The Corporate Mask

Like many, I took the typical “safe” route in Singapore.

I worked in visual merchandising, from Marks & Spencer to Chanel to DFS in Cambodia and more.

By day, I styled mannequins, brainstormed ideas and led the creative girlie life.

By night, I read tarot for family, friends, and colleagues. I didn’t call it “work.” It was more a service. A way to help people make sense of their lives.

But tarot wasn’t entertainment. It was therapy before I knew the word for it.

The Personal Work Behind the Cards

I grew up watching my parents’ relationship fall apart.

As a child caught between conflict, I learned to take care of everyone but myself. That became a pattern, in love, work, and friendships.

I kept choosing the wrong people. I struggled with body image and self-worth. I didn’t understand what healthy love looked like.

Through tarot, I learned to recognize my patterns and where they came from.

It helped me stop blaming others and start asking harder questions:

  • Why do I repeat this behavior?

  • What am I afraid of feeling?

  • How can I respond differently next time?

That’s how my shadow work began, long before it became a word widely used now on social media.

What Shadow Work Means (and Why It Matters)

Shadow work is the process of exploring the parts of ourselves we hide, the fears, desires, and emotions we repress.

It’s not about “fixing” yourself. It’s about awareness.

Because what we avoid controls us.

Once you bring those parts to light, you make conscious choices again. You stop reacting from pain and start acting from truth.

That’s what tarot did for me. It didn’t predict my future, it changed how I lived my present.

Losing Everything to Find Alignment

When COVID hit, I had to choose: continue abroad or return home to Singapore with no job.

I came home.

For a year, every job application was rejected.

That silence forced me to listen to something louder... my intuition.

I went back to my roots. I asked my guides for direction.

On 22 February 2021, Nehesa Ascension was born.

It wasn’t about “starting a business.” It was about remembering who I was always meant to be, someone who helps others heal, understand themselves, and break free from cycles that no longer serve them.

What I Hope You’ll Find Here

This space isn’t about predicting your future.

It’s about helping you understand your story, your patterns, your pain, your purpose.

Through tarot, numerology, and shadow work, I hope to help you:

  • Build awareness of your inner patterns.

  • Heal from generational trauma.

  • Reconnect with your voice and intuition.

  • Create a life that feels aligned, not imposed.

Healing isn’t about becoming someone new.

It’s about remembering who you are beneath the noise.

What’s Next

Since 2021, Nehesa Ascension has guided thousands of people through readings, workshops, and live sessions.

In the coming months, we’re expanding into new experiences, combining spirituality with modern life. From career readings to community events, this is only the beginning.

If you’re curious, stay close.

This journey isn’t mine alone anymore. It’s ours.
